Muhammed Mahdi Al Nasiri

His Eminence Sheikh Muhammad Mahdi Al-Nasiri is a distinguished Shi’a scholar residing between Montreal, Canada, and Iraq. His early religious education was nurtured under the guidance of his father, His Eminence Ayatullah Muhammad Baqir Al-Nasiri, a revered scholar whose teachings laid the foundation for his son’s deep commitment to Islamic knowledge and spirituality.

Sheikh Al-Nasiri furthered his studies at the prestigious seminary (ḥawza) of Najaf, where he had the honor of being a student of some of the most prominent Shi’a scholars of his era. Among his principal teachers was the eminent Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr (four four years), a towering figure in Shi’a jurisprudence and philosophy. He also studied under other renowned scholars, including:
– Grand Ayatollah Abul-Qassim Khoei
– Grand Ayatollah Muhammad Baqir al-Hakim
– Additional respected teachers were active in Najaf during his period of study.

This unique combination of early familial instruction and advanced seminary education equipped Sheikh AlNasiri with profound religious knowledge and spiritual insight, which he continues to impart through his leadership, teaching, and counseling both in Iraq and within the Canadian diaspora.

Since 1989, he has been the founder and Imam of Masjid Ahl Al Bayt in Montreal , founder of the Arabic School of Al Tawheed, and co-founder and permanent advisor of the Muslim Scouts of Montreal (Scouts of Al Mustafa).
